Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Gotta say I like the lumo at 40% the best...
girsempa
Haha, this one is tougher than the one from yesterday! ;-) Calling Henk! Nice series, JC!

Hallo Jan-Carel, Big surprise for me, a dedication by you for me, and all I did was learning from Geert (aka: girsempa), and telling you what a fantastic tool, the fade colours in photo-shop is!! I have a preference for 4!! I like the ice '" cool" series very much!!! Many thanks Jan-Carel for this dedi, and have a very nice day!! Henk

Revealed and apparant structure are things one must be a careful information artist with. I like the one which charges the camera and defaults in audit of imperceptible wrongs.

Ciao Jan-Carel ;o)))) Nice to see another experiment, and a fine dedi for Henk ! Without doubt, I choose the 4th one too. For me it's the perfect luminosity, enough to see all the details and contrast, with the best level. With 80% and 100% the dark side cover so many details, even if the contrast of colors is very lovely. It's really a very good idea all these serie, and make me think to some shots of mine, that I'm going to work in several ways. Thank you for all that ;o)))) Have a great day my friend. Hugs.

It's difficult for me to judge which variation is the best, I don't have that much knowledge of it all. I can say which one I like best: number 6 looks pretty nice to me. Have a good day J.C.!

I really liked each one for it's own merit and thought each delightful (can it be my being 'blond' is showing more and more.

I think for me 20% is just enough to suit my eyes..just enough enhancement...trippy experiment here JC! Aloha!

I like 20% and definately wouldn't go past 40...Very interesting experiment,Jan-Carel.I like seeing the differences here like this.A thoughtful dedi for one who inspired you!

This is a very fine series you have made here Jan-Carel, and yes Photoshop is a fantastic piece of software! I dont know exactly which one I prefer, but this is very well done! A very fine dedication!
CameraObscura
Interesting series here. As we see in the first one, so much lighter over all, we do not have depth or great detail though the image is sharp. In the last one there is greater sharpness because of the settings and we seem to have greater depth, though all an illusion. I myself like the last one. Yet in all samples I wish you had touched up the two very small highlights and I mean very little, as I find them a little distracting from the wonderful detail of the ice crystals. Thank you for sharing. Egmont

i'm kinda a "middle of the roader" so i will go with 40%!
froznlife42
For me it would definetly be #6. I love how the crystals just pop right out at ya in that one. I really love these experiments you've been doing lately. It gives the rest of us something to ponder when viewing them all. Thanks!!

Again an interesting composition. For me 40% looks best. Thanks for sharing your work!

Lots of fun with photoshop. These are all interesting views, but I like the original. Renderosity is a great place to learn.
jocko500
look like you haveing fun with photoshop. I may even put one of the layers in a fither and fade it some into the image.

For my tastes #2 (20% luminosity) is the most pleasing to the eyes. Just a hint of definition added, without losing the natural appearance in any way. Just my preference. Love the collage, it's always enjoyable seeing multiple images of the same subject, using different settings, and finding the one most pleasing. Beautifully done my friend!
hotracer2
I like the 40%, but in all cases it is personal:):)..V
cynlee
like the full luminosity of 6..
nongo
I vote for # 5 for my eyes!!!!!!
