Description

The other one of the two guys who stimulated me to experiment in Photoshop is Henk a.k.a. Hedepo so I decided to dedicate this one to you! In the second (and last - at least, for now) attempt I've taken the original scanned slide (after removing dust, cropping borders and enhancing levels) and I applied auto levels in an adjustment layer, and I applied the luminosity layer modes with different opacities to the picture (2-6). I'd love (once again) to read what one(s) you do prefer so please feel free to make your choice. Thank you for your reactions yesterday! It is amazing to see how we all have our own preferences! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Hallo Jan-Carel, Big surprise for me, a dedication by you for me, and all I did was learning from Geert (aka: girsempa), and telling you what a fantastic tool, the fade colours in photo-shop is!! I have a preference for 4!! I like the ice '" cool" series very much!!! Many thanks Jan-Carel for this dedi, and have a very nice day!! Henk

Revealed and apparant structure are things one must be a careful information artist with. I like the one which charges the camera and defaults in audit of imperceptible wrongs.

Ciao Jan-Carel ;o)))) Nice to see another experiment, and a fine dedi for Henk ! Without doubt, I choose the 4th one too. For me it's the perfect luminosity, enough to see all the details and contrast, with the best level. With 80% and 100% the dark side cover so many details, even if the contrast of colors is very lovely. It's really a very good idea all these serie, and make me think to some shots of mine, that I'm going to work in several ways. Thank you for all that ;o)))) Have a great day my friend. Hugs.

It's difficult for me to judge which variation is the best, I don't have that much knowledge of it all. I can say which one I like best: number 6 looks pretty nice to me. Have a good day J.C.!

This is a very fine series you have made here Jan-Carel, and yes Photoshop is a fantastic piece of software! I dont know exactly which one I prefer, but this is very well done! A very fine dedication!

Interesting series here. As we see in the first one, so much lighter over all, we do not have depth or great detail though the image is sharp. In the last one there is greater sharpness because of the settings and we seem to have greater depth, though all an illusion. I myself like the last one. Yet in all samples I wish you had touched up the two very small highlights and I mean very little, as I find them a little distracting from the wonderful detail of the ice crystals. Thank you for sharing. Egmont

For me it would definetly be #6. I love how the crystals just pop right out at ya in that one. I really love these experiments you've been doing lately. It gives the rest of us something to ponder when viewing them all. Thanks!!

For my tastes #2 (20% luminosity) is the most pleasing to the eyes. Just a hint of definition added, without losing the natural appearance in any way. Just my preference. Love the collage, it's always enjoyable seeing multiple images of the same subject, using different settings, and finding the one most pleasing. Beautifully done my friend!
