Description

Photography made with my Nikon D70S and a Tamron lens 18-200 mm. No postwork, just framed with Photoshop 7 I continue with my little serie of Butterflies.... Always in the forest and near a little river, there where so many differents sort of Butty, each one more beautiful than the other ! This one has play with me for a long time... flying around me. But each time I was near to him.... he fly away, then my shots aren't so neat, sorry ! But he has a wonderful orange color and was about 6 cm. If I made a good search on Internet... this one must be a "Vindula Erota" (the French common name is a "Croiseur"). The previous post in my gallery :

Your research is correct. Its English common name is Cruiser Butterfly and we see her the male. The female is actually less colourful being in shades of off white and browns. The eye spots are present on both sexes and are also on the under wing of both species. Their territory is from India and Pakistan, to Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as Australia. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, just know it brings pleasure to those who will never venture to such far off places. Egmont

Oh I just love butties!! They are each so colorful, so different, and beautiful in their own way. This one is like a drop of molten sunset with his bright orange color. He looks quite large and you took magnificent photos of him!! Beautiful!! V
