Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Cold but still beautiful. The flow is just the opposite here, much more in winter when it rains, and little in the summer when it's so dry.

Just great, Jan-Carel. This is the type of picture which just cals out to be explored. Now if I can only get my back brace on, my ankle brace on, then my boots, and hobble down to the travel agents, I will try and arrange a flight ;o) This lightened my spiritis,. Thanks. Regards, John.

Are you sure this isn't the Hudson River in upstate New York Jan-Carel?? LOL Just kidding but it does resemble it with the trees all along it and the way it twists and turns. :-) We don't have as much gravel though I don't think...it's more slate bed than gravel near me anyway. A fantastic picture! :-) V
