Average time spent on Renderosity: 60 #:o/ You speak the truth my dear friend. Stop and smell the roses indeed. My favorite smell by the way...is cow-pies. Yeah....i know...weird huh? Well to me that symbolize spring. #:o) Beautiful shot to go along with those words of wisdom. Really purty. Speaking of time...its time for me to get back to work im afraid...sigh. See ya later. Great shot.

Thought provoking as usual Kort..thanks for reminding me about the death spiral we are all inevitable on. When I hit 50 I decided it was time to have some fun and enjoy the things I worked hard for instead of putting it off till tomorrow. Reality really sets in when you figure you got 20 yrs. left if your lucky. So I live each day like it's the last, and don't worry as much about the things I can't change. I buy my toys when I want and kick my conscience in the groin when it tries to reason with me. Stopping the down hill slide is impossible, but putting the brakes on it to slow it down is not...I got my Flintstone brakes on and am enjoying each day...Thanks for the great shot and words of wisdom! Aloha~

I perfectly know what you mean. We all experience that, anyway. 5 years ago, I was working at CERN, one of the greatest research center in Europe and the old scientists I used to talk with tried to establish a theory to explain that phenomenon of time distorsion. When you say "the end is no longer unimaginable and we begin to think of life in terms of what is left rather than how much we have lived", this is perfectly true but not enough! 'Cause you only give half of the explanation, the future half! The past half is also very important to clearly understand that distorsion. It's a matter of references of comparisons! Any lapse of time is interpreted in comparison whith all the references you've got in your past life! A lapse of time of one year is not interpreted the same way if you're 5 years old than if you're 50! A lapse of time of one year is the fifth of the sum of all your references when you're 5 years old but it's just the equivalent of the short period of "last year" in the other case... This can appear obvious but I think it is also very important: the way we constantly refer to what we have already lived! As always, coming in your gallery is a real source of pleasure...

Thanks for the words...your image looks very professional. 'Time' is my favourite Pink Floyd song as well. I remember really LISTENING to the lyrics for the first time about 7 years ago...and it had a real effect on me. The lyrics are a source of great anxiety for me but I still love that song for it's amazing sound and lyrical genius.

Gotta agree with Punaguy. I was lucky in one way. My Mother was kind of an unofficial natural buddhist. She would say " Enjoy and appreciate the little things " which is another way of saying "Be in the moment ". It has gotten me through some very hard times. Excellent work here. You certainly have stimulated alot of thought in people. I really enjoy that. Excellent!!! V

from the time we are born we or on a one way street to the end. all through life we are expected to stop for red lights but let someone die and they are in such a hurry to get them in the ground they run all the lights. outstanding focus Kort in your macro and life

Isn't it strange that when a person passes away the invariable question is how did he/she die rather than how did he/she lived! Living is a process whereas death is instantaneous. Why do we then attach so much importance to that moment in time rather than the whole evolution of time of our living which often contributes so much to enrich others' lives?

love the watch

Ah, now, Floyd IS timeless.... Terrific photo, Kort -- you should do ad design for these chronograph manufacturers. They would surely sell more timepieces as a result! My Vote

Wow, Kort, you know how to put things here! Love to see it, to read it and to think about it! Life flies and to enjoy the world it is perhaps as Jesus says, become like a child. It's the children showing us how to wonder about this world, looking to a flower and discovering its beauty! And now I am on the biblical tour let's add the word from Ecclesiast (9:9), enjoy life with the woman you love, all the days of your life! :) Memento mori and carpe diem, life will have an end here on this earth and when we're 70 years old, what will we see in our own personal history? Excellent work, love the thought-provocative words! :)

Most thought-provoking my friend. One of the things I like best about your gallery,is when we also get to see your 'deeper' side, wonderful pics with your most eloquent written text.Beautifully said and illustrated.Time indeed is fleeting, and often we forget we should stop to smell the roses...Too often it is tragedy that reminds us to do so...So thank you,for this 'non-tragic' reminder. Now if only time would show a bit less on this old 'punim' I would be happy, lol.(If you don't know it,ask a neighbor,lol.).Have a great one Kortalouche!-M ;^)

I'm a huge PF fan too! Saw 'em in '77 (Animals), then in '79 (The Wall), and again in '87 (Momentary Lapse). Oops, I digress. Great capture Kort!
