Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

The tree will fall into the river, but before it does, its roots will break apart the rock, helping to make more soil, so more trees can grow. The cycle just goes 'round and 'round. Great shot, J-C.

Lovely textures and POV, Jan-Carel. This is another picture to set the imagination off. I am sure that a fantasy artist could do a lot with it. That excludes me then ;o) Just imagine microscopic hoiminids living in that river bank, striving to avert such a catastrophe. Regards, John.

We can learn much from observing the smaller things in nature and then applying it to Bonsai creations. As I try to emulate nature by creating real settings for my Bonsai presentations. Thank you for sharing.

Amazing designs in the rock along the water. Unusual lines and it almost looks like it is slowly dripping down into the sea... :-) Very different!!

Its amazing how powerful tree roots can be causing rock to break apart. Interesting capture. Aloha
