Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Lovely river ! and of course a perfect one to go fishing ;o)))) I miss to go fishing... it was the second passion after the photography, and we often go together to fish each time we find a river. It was so great, and always so peaceful moments for us... Thank you for this shot Jan-Carel, it's nice to discover with you all these places. Have a nice week-end my friend. Hugs.

I've always loved to walk by or in these little cold rivers. Once I walked with bare feet in such an ice cold river, and whan I came out I saw that both my feet were badly cut up and bleeding; I hadn't felt it because of the freezing cold... Wonderful shot of a beautiful piece of nature! Prettig week-einde, JCRR! ;-)

This reminds me of a view of "Oil Creek" in my home town. This is exactly how it looks in the winter time. I used to spend so much time in that river during the summer months, I'm surprised I never sprouted gills. Beautiful!!!
