Description
I found this canyon back in 72, it hasn't changed much.
I spent 3 very blissful days here.
Everything went away, nothing crossed the mind to distract from the total ataraxis, this valley gave me.
The birds sang to me, a song worth hearing.
The song told of happiness and it seemed , just glad to be alive.
After a day I even got the chipmunks to eat out of my hand. The baby's wanted to come out, but the male wouldn't let them get to close to me.
Maybe I'm the 1st man they have seen.
On the morn of the 3rd day I knew I had to leave.
I got a little silly and said good-bye to the birds and the 2 chipmunks. A fish jumped up, as if to say "See you."
Over time I forgot about that little valley, but after the last visit to the Doc's, I'm starting to remember it, once more.
He said I had 6 months, that was 3 months ago.
It's spring time now and I've still got enough strength to hike in.
Every dusk I'll face the east wall, so I can watch the changing colors, on the cliff.
I'll make friends with the chipmunks again, listen to the song of the birds.
I'm going to enjoy what time is left.
The waterfall, the stream, songs and a family of begging little rodents, sorry, chipmunks.
I'll make peace with myself and repair some wounds with my maker, maybe, I can even heal some of the scars be-tween us.
This is a beautiful place, I have everything now.
A good Last Stop.
