Happy "Hump" Day! Hope everyone's week has been going well?! We're half way through it-Yeeeaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!! Had a real bad accident here in the house last night. My dog, Rider, ended up breaking his rear right leg somehow. He was outside with the kids, and nobody is telling us what happened or anything. Sooooo, they're all grounded-FOR LIFE! Or at least until the $800. vet bill is paid. He spent the night at the animal hospital last night, & they said he was doing okay this morning. They gave us 2 options for fixing him. 1)If we plan on keeping his show line intake, they'll put pins & bolts in his leg(costing us $1300), or 2)Casting it and treating him like a baby for a month(costing us the $800.). We opted for the casting. He SHOULD be home today! So, this beautiful shot is for my sweet-boy, Rider! Heaven was watching him yesterday, and this was the way the sky looked. It was almost as if the skies were on fire from above. No postwork done except re-sizing. Thank you everyone for your hearfelt views/comments/prayers!!! Ohhh poor Rider :o((( give him a big hug for me...and maybe you'll be able to wrangle the info out of the kids somehow mwhahahaha! I always told my daughter when she was growing up, the truth is always better than a lie, no matter how bad it was, because eventually we'd find out anyway, sooo LOL you get my drift :o)... well anyway, this is quite a glorious photo Velvet...hope you're feeling ok today in spite of the vet bill ! hugs

Beautiful looking sky Velvet! And Oh my god regarding your dog. Not to freak you out or anything, but a few years ago, our dog Zacko (hence my nick) broke his rear leg in a car accident. Well it got shattered really. And they spent 10 months (!!!!!) operating on him. Inserting bolts, pins and what not into his leg. And also outside of it, to stabilize it. I then spent a few months walking him 5 hours each day to build up his muscles again. Then one day when we were out walking he got jumped by a stray dog and we ended up having to put him to sleep. That whole episode costed us 15000 dollars....and 10 months of heartpain. #:o( I sure hope everything works out for you and your family. Me and Eija will say our prayers each night before bed. Just remember that our dog was probably more injured, having it shattered and all. So im sure it will work out for you. #:O)

This is such a pretty view on such a sad and tension filled day for you. Sorry to hear about Rider. My Mom's basset hound got his broken when he and the older dog were playing with each other. It got broke right near the hip. There wasn't anything they could do to fix that area. He ended up walking with a limp and having to deal with bad days when it hurt him. But he did just fine other than that. So keep your chin up honey, it'll be OK! big hug

That sky is stunning! The clouds in the top half of this image almost has an 'underwater, looking toward the surface' look to it! Splendid capture Velvet. I hope your day is fantastic!
