Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Well, it looks warm, so I'll pretend it is a nice hot afternoon in Belize just before a thunderstorm. I love the colors on the water.

Oh...I like very much how this one shows that top layer of light where the sun now shines!! Beautiful Jan-Carel!! It truly captures how powerful the sea is. Wonderful atmosphere and power shown!! :-) I love it as is but if I were to crop, it would only be a small amount from the bottom where the color changes to a bluish hue.

Good to be in a boat this far out at sea! I've been this far out before, and had a hard time with sea sickness..but I love the view! Aloha!

Don't crop it! This shows the huge magnitude of the sea. The water looks thick enough to walk on. Stunning.

I think Terschelling 2 is the masterpiece, so perhaps I should have posted my comment there. This is magnificent but the burned horizon takes this away from the supreme balance of #2. Still would be very proud to approach this level of artistic eye and technical brilliance!
