Description

This is a remake of a picture I did a few weeks back, and I'm very happy with the results. Please take a look at the other picture in my gallery (-003-) and rate this one accordingly. Done in 3D Studio Max 3.

I suggest you make the texture on the planet less fuzzy. I would use photoshop lighting effects to simulate a darker side of the planet, it gives it more depth. I it worked quite well with one if my space pics ("Mobility"). but otherwise this has a nice composition.

Nice job! I might bring the cloud layer a little closer to the Earth, but that's just a nit. It's very good as is!

Nice, but I think Clouds are too straight

Better, but the clouds look flat. Maybe if you layered a bump map over just the clouds to give them some texture. Plus, they are too high in the sky at the horizon. It would be cool if the clouds actually cast shadows underneath them. Maybe they're a little too uniform also.
