Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Hope you will feel better soon. Missing a friend is a very bad feeling, I know. I wish you lots of sunshine to make you smile again.

It's your personal style of your shooting that I like so much. This picture has something sentimental. Really great details and textures!

As you say Jan-Carel, wind and life makes our being in continuous movement, sometimes as now for you, taken oneself away from those whom we love. But, as long as our memory should let us, they will be next to us in our way, as we are now next to you. Hope you feel better!!.

I see so many faces and figures in this fragile sandscape. Some are smiling and some are sad. At any moment, everything could be washed away. Your thoughts are respected. Aloha

I really happy to see, you "put" a sand waves to the main target. Very interesting formation!

On the contrary my friend, what this place needs right now is a bit of enthusiasm. I dont think we should act like were at a funeral or something just cause we misses a few friends. If they see what a blast we have here, then maybe theyll return one of these days. Gorgeous photo by the way. I just wish i could stick my toes in that sand. Have a good day Sir. #:O)

Sometimes we get insular. Then the situation goes centrifugal as it absorbs the power of focus. The resultant emptiness admits to the meaningless outside.

Beautiful patterns made by nature with nice light & shadows!

My dear friend Jan-Carel, it too pains me for the mass exodus of so many individuals from Renderosity. As you already know, my days too are numbered, but I leave not for reasons of some ones banishment or their support of, rather the pain I too feel for the major loss of friends these last three months. Thought there are still many here who are my friends and I would want to stay in contact with, I just find it very hard to continue. My heart has been pierced - torn out if you will. This last weekend, I received three IMs of close friends who informed me as to their departure sometime this month. Of course we are also sad because we have lost Cindy ( cynlee ) who was a driving and creative force for many here, lifting many spirits and providing comfort to those in need. The loss of this flame has plunged the photography of this site into darkness. I know that things are ever changing and though we wish to keep things the same, we cannot. Like your image, the sand are always shifting and there will come a time when things get better. For now I want to have good memories of my time here at Renderosity and not developed a bad taste that does not to go away with the brushing of ones teeth. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feeling with us. Egmont

I know people leaving us does leave us with a loss, but change is in the nature of things. We have really no control over it except in a personal way of coming to terms with it. Life is for living!

Like the shifting sands of your photograph, there is no constant in the world; only constant change. When I was younger, I was constantly surprised by change, but as I have grown I am now more often surprised when something remains UNchanged for any length of time. I think it can help us to to try to find beauty wherever possible; beauty can inspire us when we are happy and can provide solace when we are not. Fabulous photo, Jan-Carel -- this is even better than your last. All those shadows and striations in the sand.... What an interesting place this must be to visit!

A very beautiful image from the wild, again you have captured mother natures "art of her own" in your own special way! Very well done Jan-Carel, and thanks for sharing this beauty! And I think that Egmont and Suresh is so right, life has to go on, even when we looses our loved ones, as hard as it may feel! Hopefully we will meet again some sunny day!....:-)

Beautiful scene with the lighting surfaces and color, keen eye:):):)..V

Another beautiful shot... I hope you will not let whatever has happened here keep you down for long. I guess this place is like anywhere else where you have a lot of poeple gathering and I guess it is impossible to keep everyone happy and people will come and people will go. I hate to see them leave but I still find this place to be full of very friendly and helpful people. I hope you can find a way to be happy for all of the positive things to be found here. :-) Have a wonderful day Jan-Carel!

I like this sand only version much better, it really shows the shifting sand to its utmost

C'est extraordinaire comme ce sable est blanc.. This sand is white, never seen for me....Your photograph is attractive and pure, and gives me envy to roll myself on this sand, like I did when child in Morocco... You know that i am sad too...Sure we could feel soon in better mood ( without amnesia ) and enjoy, all together, art, photography and friendship q:)Zbx Magali
