www.matttidball.com Another shot of the Budgerigar. Click here for the first shot. I am curious to know which shot is more 'eye-catching.'

I like the composition of this one better actually. The first one had too much visibility on the face in the background IMO. I found that to be a little distracting to the bird. I guess it all boils down to what youre looking for. Both shots are really beautiful. Have a great one. #:O)

Hmmmm This is tough. The composition in this one is much more interesting but I would have liked it better without noticing the face in back. The face does not add anything to this for me. The other shot clearly had the person as part of the layout and composition which was an added element of interest due to his relationship with the bird (holding it) It also created a more creative depth of field using him. Once again the shot and subject (bird) are well done and precise. KP

Lovely capture, the vibrant colors contrast nicely with the face on the background!

Definitely prefers this one since nothing competes with the bird for your attention. On the other hand he looks a bit spooked in this one.. hmmm, beautiful bird!

I don't like your previous shot because you are there. This one is almost perfect. It's a very fine capture and I should know. My budgie died two months ago. I named myself after him: Chip. Now I have two young little budgies called Jack and Gus (after the mice in Cinderella) and I'm going to treat them like little kings. A very nice shot - this one.

Well, I gotta say they're both excellent captures Matt. I like this one just fine (a better sense of being up close and personal with the budgy), but I did like the previous post better, because your face IS in it, giving it a more interesting DOF feel. Have an awesome day buddy!

The face is not mine, it is Joel's. Thanks for the feedback.
