Description

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments on the Terschelling-series! I appreciate them very much! It is time to start something new now, so I decided to take my Kodak Photo-cd with digitized slides and I discovered this series, slides shot back in April 1992. I start with this capture of a scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) growing on top of the Osenberge (23 m, 75 ft) in Northern Germany (close to Oldenburg). Actually, we are on our way to the little forest called Hasbruch and after that we planned to follow the Weser river, but we stopped here to enjoy these little sand-hills. Minolta X-700 (Agfa 100 CTi, 70 mm and cropped) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

It looks like the sand has eroded away beneath it - and the pine has just extended its roots to compensate. Wonderful find!

Terrific image JC I guess that sandy soil has forced the pine to produce such amazing root system to survive

This does look like an Ent, standing on the ground instead of being in it. Great shot.
