Description

Hello all! I took this shot yesterday at Twilight . The colors you see here are saturated only a slight tad . It jumped out at me at the time and the whole thing seemed a bit surreal to me . I am pretty sure that this is a brakeman doing the last minute checks and oiling the wheels before his train parted . I don't know what exactly goes on with the whole oiling part but the scene caught my eye . I ran over and got pretty close and got a face full of steam LOL . This 1881 steam train was soon to leave and I was facinated by the train worker who looked so determined and absorbed. My Father left home at a real young age and worked on the railroad in the 50's before going into the Navy. He would tell me stories about it from time to time. So I have always been facinated by trains espcially older trains and the sound they make as well as the workers on them and thier life. Something about it all always draws my attention! I almost didn't put it up cause the over all compo is darker then I normally like and the steam made it not as sharp , but for some reason I cannot explain something about this shot gets my attention so I thought I would share it with you today! Thanks for all your time and comments !! love to you all!! ((( Big hugs ))) ♥ ~Kimmers ! :O)

WONDERFUL!!!!Love trains, they have always seemed surreal to me. They go thru our town at 60 miles per hour sometimes and I love the thrill of it. I have a little store about half a block away and the trains rattle the windows. I love it. Thanks for the photo. Hugs and kissees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful details in this old train and I like the contrast of all that massive steel beside the vulnerability of a human, and yet without that human touch the train would be useless. Fascinating shot. :o) CC

Good old Casey Jones! He sure knew how to get the ol' engine runnin'! I was only a kid then, but I could hear the "hoo-whee". I can still see Casey hanging by his engine in the titles, smoking his pipe. A wonderful shot, as always!
