Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

A very Happy Easter to you my friend. Aloha

A lovely thought and a lovely flower, Jan-Carel. I had heard the name 'coltsfoot' beofer but had never known which flower it was. Part of our Easter vigil mass involves the lighting of candles in a darkened church. This signals the hope of the Resurrection. Unfortunately on Holy Saturday night, the wind and rain made the lighting of the brazier ( out in the church garden ) a very difficult task - a bit like living one's faith. Once alight, in the gusting wind, the flames and sparks went everywhere, and at one point looked like being a fire hazard, before settling down - again a bit like the spiritual life. The service was standing room only, very uplifting, and a great success. Happy Easter to you and all your 'viewers', of whatever faith background or none. Regards, John.
