Description

This shot was taken at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando. I was out that afternoon trying to locate a couple of headstones I had taken pictures of several years ago that the negatives had been damaged beyond hope of salvage, and I came across this lovely figure. Granted, I'm quite sure anyone who was looking would have laughed at me laying down and crawling military style into position to get the framing correct. Ah the joys of looking stupid for your art :). This is a straight capture, Photoshop used simply to resize the image and add my signature. Shot was taken with my Olympus E-300, using the 50mm Macro lens, F2.2, 1/3200 shutter speed at 200 ISO. Comments and crits are always welcome. Thanks for stopping by and having a look.

Getting results like this makes the looking stupid all worthwhile. Lovely photo and great DOF.

Wow.... I do a lot of cemetary photography and I've never run across a cherub like this, especially not in such pristine shape! Wonderful image!

I prefer the crop that you did for the thumbnail or, you should crop out the part with the carved flowers and show the cherub by itself. The cherub looks so real, it can almost pass as a black & white photo of a child. Great details and DOF.

Beautiful sculpture and nice photo but I also think you should try to shoot this again with difrent POV/angle. Hehe.... remove a headstone to shoot again with the lonely cherub on the left side :PP

Instantly captivating! I'd love to see this from different angles too, but this was definitely worth the awkwardness of the shot! Bravo!

Perfect light and clarity. The blurred backgroud really makes her jump forward!
