Description

Once again back to the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival in my hometown Hilo. Each day throughout the festival, our local hotels support a hula show made up from different hula Halau's (hula schools). These shows are put on as appetizers for the main competition. Tickets for this event are sold out way in advance, except for the first night when it's free. I have been going down to the hotels all week to catch the previews of these hula halau's, because I can't get tickets. In addition, it's a little nerve racking to try and stay out of everyone's way while shooting the dancers. On competition nights ,there are a few thousand in the audience and staying out of the way could be a problem...I really don't want to get beaned in the head for being in the way. So that being said, I am relegated to watching it on the TV via live telecast. I don't mind really, but you certainly miss the energy that can't be felt unless you are actually there. Thanks for dropping in and Big Mahalo's for the comments on my last images in this series. I'm SOOOOOoooooo behind on comments, I will catch up.. Kala Ma'i (Excuse me) Aloha to All

Another beautiful portrait of a beautiful girl. For one time I've got a remark: I think the framing is not the best suitable this time, maybe because the texture is too much repetitive... All the rest is perfect as usual.

Dave, you've captured a whole series of beautiful women in a totally different softness. The very soft ambient light free of harsh highlights and subtle soft filter enhances their smooth skin tones. I'd love to know your secret!
