Another shot of a sit down hula from Tues. shoot. Hula is not just dancing but also singing along and telling the story of the dance as they interpret it. Normally at the beginning of each dance the Kumu Hula (Hula Teacher) will tell the story about to be performed by the dancers, so the audience can get a feel for the dance. The songs are sung in the Hawaiian language, and are not easy to follow if you don't know the language. I'm sad to say that my Hawaiian is quite pitiful, and I have to listen to the story told by the Kumu Hula to understand it also. I know, I should be beaten for not being able to speak or understand my own language...It's a good thing I have a friend like Sharky who has a good grasp of the Hawaiian language. I also made this image in BW and couldn't really decide which one to post, but if there's any interest I can post it later.
