Description

Hello all Three pelicans at Balboa park . They were all turned exactly the same and it caught my eye .. but then as I snapped this shot the middle guy turned back and looked at me as i gotten up fairly close .. shot just this just before they took off they are not like the ducks and geese that are more socially acceptable of people. That day there were alot of pelicans there now you go to the park and they are nearly gone . I wonder where they all went to!!? its funny how birds come and go and migrate . It makes me wonder if they have a set pattern or is it random? Have been suffering from a bad tooth /back molar here. Going to the dentist on Tues but have to wait till then. Been resting and trying to deal with severe pain as I have ignored it far to long. I am one of those that ignores the obvious sometimes (the dentist) as long as possible LOL. So behind on here again But know I

Awesome shot! Reminds me of old men on a park bench, for some reason. Can only imagine what they were discussing before they flew off...

The Pelican is a symbol of self sacrificing maternal love, as she was thought to pierce her own breast to feed her chicks with drops of blood. We used to have a big sculpture of a Pelican with chicks at my first school.

Maybe they flew off to deliver triplets. Kimmers, sorry to hear about the tooth. Bad pain I know. Do whatever you need to do to address inflammation and stick with a schedule. Hopefully Tues. you will bet real relief. Excellent photography as usual my dear.

A friend of mines told me to slosh a jigger of Jim Beam around my troubled tooth ache. It didn't cure the pain but it sure made it tolerable till I could see the doctor. You caught the eye of the beautiful Pelicans. Excellent shot. Aloha

Ahhh! Now there are some handsome lads! These guys I know about. They frequent the docks of my home town on Galveston Bay (Tx). When they come in for a landing they look like a squadron of B-52s. Nice catch, Kimmers!

Love your sense of symmetry and pattern here, Kim. This photo would be even more striking if cropped at the top. Excellent capture!

What a goofy bird the pelican, his beak can hold more than his belly can. Great shot Kimmers, drink warm tea.
