Description

G'day. The next few uploads will be a series of shots from a short holiday last week at Phillip Island approx 100km south east of Melbourne (my first holiday in 3 years). Phillip Island is a large inhabited island approx 20km long (west to east)and approx 8km wide (north to south. Its special in that the north side is very shallow and protected by the australian mainland whereas the south side faces out onto Bass Straight and gets alot of big winds and cold weather from the Antarctic. The south side is incredibly rugged and beautiful and alot of people dont know how special the coast line is here!! My holiday was un-usual as we had an opposite (north) wind which blew spray back over the big waves on the south side. I got up at around 6.00am one morning to watch the sun rise and fell in love with the yellow waves and spray drift. I have particularly enjoyed looking at "Punaguys" wave shots from Hawaii and this photo is dedicated to him. (I love the volcanic rocks there & must visit one day!!). Its totally coincidental that much of the south side of this island also has large areas of volcanic flows and extinct volcanic plugs. I have not done any post work on this photo (just some cropping). The image is a little noisy as it was very early in the morning and light was limited. More photos to follow soon Cheers To Y'all From Loopy Lou
