Description
This although relatively uninteresting is my first real attempt at creating my own Volumetric Isosurface with displacements & multiblend, so I'd really appreciate some heavy criticism for improvements.
All I have done is create a terrain in SurfacePos with the Voronoi displacements added at WorldPos & used the multiblend in the shader.
The light is from above side & below, & the atmos is just a plain basic Re-emmision & falloff.
I now need to look at blending differing isosurfaces to create one. So this is just a WIP.
Reminds me of crushed nuts in chocolate :))

I liked the detail shot of the thumbnail more than the wider view above - a larger render of just that area would look good I feel. Maybe its to do with the lighting angle there, the foreground above seems to lack that detail and looks flat and over exposed. But its a cracking texture and the colours are great.

Thx Bob, I value your feedback. Yes your right, the bottom/side lighting is more effective at the overhang as in the thumbnail. I realised the terrain overall was too flat & needed reworking which is what I have just done. The over-exposure was me getting used to the ambience & atmos effects on the material which I am slowly getting to grips with.. (Hue * Saturation + Mat = Output etc etc etc). I'm not that impressed with the texture in itself as originally the plan was to go for a sandy boulder on a muddy backdrop, but this is what I ended up with. Im still plugging away at this so if you can offer any help Id be grateful as always :))

Nice one Woz!....great texture!...I too prefer the "orange" bits rather than the lighter bits...as you are messing with the lights you could try using a color texture for the one or more light...I got some strange but nice effects this way...it's worth a little experimenting with....^_^....

Really interesting texture! and yes orange is best!

Thx Jeff.. I hadnt thought about adding a texture to the ambient lights :)

Quant gemacht !

Hot colors, continue like that ! Maybe just a little parametric displacements by slope & altitude will add some random effect ? I really appreciate this sort of render, not a standart one :-)
