Description
This is the last in the series of shots of the pyramid styled crypt in Metairie Cemetery (the other two are "The Sphinx of Metairie", and "The Sphinx's Guardian"). While the image is a simple straight on shot, I'm posting it so that anyone who has not seen this amazing structure can get a better feel for where the two previous images were taken. Same basic shooting information as the earlier image, as well at the same treatment in Photoshop.
The shot was taken using my Pentax K-1000, 50mm lens, and Illford ISO 400 XP 2 film.

Sometimes the simplest photos are the most effective. This is, for all the simplicity, very emotive because it speaks about the wish for immortality, grandeur and maybe even arrogance, reduced to a crypt in a cemetary.

If I ever have a crypt, I'd want it to be as cool as this. The owners had a tasteful flair for the dramatic and obvious love of ancient Egyptian style and mythology.
