Description
I felt I needed to work on some new surfaces. I thought about something I had written on a recent image from Buzzzzz, and here is what came from that.
Please any suggestions would be wonderful and much appreciated.
Thank you
Sacha
Terrain is from Mayday (I think it's called erroded, or canyon. .sorry)
Inspiration for surfaces is from Weeladdie. Thanks for the inspiration from all your works!

Nice colors... perhaps the line near the water is a little too dark. And try to slightly increase the red component of some green layers (some greens are too vivid).

The lower surface looks great...nice detail and variation. In contrast the surface on the upper rock lacks some detail...try adding 2 or 3 more color layers to give it some life. Great shot though...love the POV and the water...nice lighting too! Very well done!

Great picture. I have to agree with the comment on the waterline, a little too dark and sharp. Try another 2 layers on those rocks but only vary the shades a little, that will help add some depth to them and make them a little less uniform. Just my opinion of course!

Cool view of a cool terrain...surfaces are also cool...since there is no rating of "Cool"...excellent will do :)

Agree with the above feels a bit contrasty. Love the light yellow green patch in the depression near the water, some of this but darker over that bright green might tone it down a titch. I can see where you're going with the dark to light veg up the altitude and its working well. For added realism I'd reduce the coverage on the lower bit near the water because it looks quite rocky and I'm not sure you'd get that much coverage in real life ... just a thought.

Working with the 'min max' altitude constraints is the key to getting the surfaces to fall where you want them. On the 'view/sculpt' enlarged surface map, run your mouse over the approx. area where your surface layer will fall. Look at the 'z' (terrain height) dimension. Now, develop your min and max settings for the layer. Also, use a false color (bold green or purple) and do a quick preview to see if the surface is falling where you want it. Keep adjusting the min max setting until you get your desired results. Then apply the right color to the layer.

You know what I find superb about this, your 'waterline' perfectly done, much deeper in tone but yet keeping to the grassy look. Excellent work on this ...
