Description

AlooooooooHa once again! Another beauty from the Merrie Monarch Festival. One benefit I have enjoyed while shooting this series is that all the girls were dressed accordingly, they didn't mind having their pic's taken, and I didn't have to pay any of them to model. Dang what more could you ask for? And believe me I was quite a pest for these few days, right in their faces...but hey, the moment in time is so brief, you snooze you lose. I have found that people don't really mind if you stand in their way, if you act like you know what your doing and are not rude. But get the shot and move, or they will give you an earful. I have a few more to post in this series and I hope your not ready to give me an earfull...I must have shot 500+ images so if you indulge me a little more I promise I won't make it too painful. Thanks for you kind comments and it looks like the guys win out here...More Women! Dogs all of ya, just dogs...Woof Woof! Aloha!

Well Dave, you dog you, I have to say I love the Wahine photos too. But, this is the first time I have ever seen them wearing white around their eyes. Is this normal for Hula or something special just for the competition???? Aloha

What a delightfully enlightening series of portraits! Your technique brings out the natural beauty so often missed by those who have not learned to look until you see. Thank you!

I know how it is to take a lot of photos at one time. And you go thought them thinking you got the best ones out then you look a few days later and say " How did I miss these lol" Now you posting them and you still shooting and wish to post what you just shot but you feel like you have to post the first photos first....super looking

squawk...I noticed in all the shots that the women have put white makeup around their eyes. Is this a tradition involved with the dance or just this year's theme?...squawk
