Description

One of of our Scout Missions operating in the vicinity of Barnards Star found more traces of the beings, called Living Mountains. We made first contact with them on Barnards Star. (See here for more detail) This time all of the 143 discovered on this planet have died about 127 years ago within about a month. On the picture above you can see the skeleton of one of those giant beings. This is a huge opportunity for our scientists to gain knowledge about their anatomy, as our sensors are still not able to get more information on the living ones on Barnards Star. Their skeleton consists mainly of pure silica coated with a unkown inorganic material. As our geologists found out, all vulcanos erupted at the time as the mass dying started. The atmosphere is now very hostile to live and temperature is at about 110

das terrain ist wieder schick, aber das overlay passt nicht! selbst die kleinsten hubbel werfen einen dunklen schatten, die risse aber sind nur hell schattiert. etwas mehr kontrast wde eventuell abhelfen?

My guess is that the mountain itself is not living, but was created by microsopic communally intelligent bacterioids. Just a guess, mind you. Intriguing story & image!

I love these works. They could be miles or inches tall! The lighting makes this very lovely.
