Description
Partially buried, an Arctic Outpost needs to conserve heat against the constant cold. This is a technique that will likely be utilized on worlds with harsh environments or minimal atmospheres. This piece straddles the territory between engineering, probability and fantasy to show how future outposts may survive.
This was the cover of Beyond Centauri, July 2007, Vol V, No. 1, from Sams Dot Publishing; Perfect bound magazine of science fiction short stories.
Hope you enjoy!
Integrated ArtMatic Pro, ArtMatic Voyager and Photoshop CS for post.
Original Post from 2006:
This one qualifies as Science Fiction I think...
This is a part of my new series, matted to 16x20 and printed on watercolor paper with ultrachrome inks. All archival materials: as in Museum Rag, not just "acid free." I will be Artist Guest of Honor at Conquet 37 in Kansas City, MO. this year on Memorial Day weekend. You can see many of my large format artworks there.
