Description

To my surprise we find many different lichens close together in this primeval forest Sababurg, like this one, the lesser sulphur-cup (Cladonia deformis) with these red blooming caps on top of the cups. All these lichens are found on the forest-soil, close to places where old wood is digested by many different organisms, returning the nutrients to the forest. Have a wonderful Sunday! Minolta X-700 (Agfa 100 CTi, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

The colours are so subtle. You can use various lichens as a dye for wool. I think lichens give off shades of yellow.

What a superb Lichen And a truely wonderful place this must be to have so many.. It is one of my complaints here in the UK that they do not let nature take its course in modern forestry to the detriment of such plants and wildlife

my Sunday is coming to a close, but these lichens will live on! The Agfa is a nice choice, and seems to solve your magenta/blue dominance.
