Description

Running, screaming, from that "thing" behind us. Have we ever looked back to really find out what "it" is? "It" is hideous and horrible, it's that "thing". Brandishing whatever it is to tear our dreams limb from limb, "it" gains quickly, not caring for our souls. The pain of loss would be too great to give in to "it's" grip. "It" hates. But "it" is lonely. As much as "it" hates us, we hate "it". As much as "it" would love to tear us limb from limb, we would surely love to destroy "it" thereupon not having to fret about "it's" mere existence. We run and "it" runs. How many of us have truly learned the secret of "it"? "It" is that thing we fear, but one must learn to love one's fears. "It" is truly alone, and miserable. All "it" wants is love, just like the rest of us. Embrace "it". How great would our life be without "it" behind us, spurring us to keep moving? "It" is not our enemy, "it" is our friend. Fear and embrace "it".

I always look forward to what you write next. Well done! "The only thing to fear is fear itself"? (Franklin Delano Roosevelt). My best to you and yours, T.P.

Have you? In your dreams suddenly turned to face "it"? Quite an experience. Maybe it is running after you to catch up to you because it is trying to tell you something. You run because you are afraid not of it...but, what it has to say! Great form, written in more of a narrative rather than verse form. I like that! Someone once told me that my free verse was written in narrative rather than free verse. Well, if it's free, then why can we make it how we see it? Isn't that what free is all about? I like the idea of stepping out of my own box. Abstract is one of those areas I've attempted but with little success. I do perservere, and do enjoy reading them. Its like walking up to someone and giving them a pinch. As if to say, "just checking, to make sure you're breathing!" Thank you for your comments on my work, I will make sure I come visit you more often. ~Michelle~
