Description

This is another neg scan from my precious collection. On this day,(in the late 80s) the little girl's mother and I, along with all our children had been for a glorious walk in the sunshine, across the fields. We sat down for a rest in a meadow while the children (all boys except for this one) were busy climbing trees and fighting imaginery monsters with 'swords' that they'd made out of sticks. We were chatting away when I suddenly saw this shot. She was so still, (probably tired from our long walk), just staring at us through the gate. She'd had face paints on earlier in the day and the remains of them were still there across her forehead. She looked just like a little angel with a dirty face! I have since lost touch with the family so I don't know where the little girl is or what she is doing and for this reason, I don't feel I can use her name which is a shame because it is so unusual and so pretty. If anyone recognises her - let me know! Back in the late 80s, I put this shot into a national magazine competition. I did not get the main prize (which was a very nice car!!!) but I did get a commended place and won a sturdy camera bag stuffed full of goodies. My trusty Epson has just given me another reminder of a wonderful day out, via my battered old neg files. I can't believe I am having so much fun for the price of a film scanner
