Composite done in photoshop.
my first attempt at 3D imaging. I welcome critiques, but go easy on me. I don't even understand half of the terminology yet.

Quite good actually. Good use of lighting gasses, and starfield. I'm thinkin I'd have used a little indrect light in the foreground so the ships stood out a little better, or maybe used a deep gray instead of black on the ships, but what the heck. Good effort!!

jangled, your monitor needs adjusting, because that is not grey on the ships, thats green. otherwise, spectacular. i would recomend to play around with materials instead of textures. also, you realy shouldnt ever use a texture that is not from a photo on an area that is using a glow light. or emittance.

Nice job. I especially like the glowing effect that seems to be coming from around the front of the closest ship. Also nise smokey, gassy effects.

Like the one in the upper left maybe put that one in front. Good first effort.

The specularity on the ships seems a little off to me, seems like it should be affected a little more by the underlying texture at the very least, but the ship design is pretty cool, as is the texture design. You might also try some feathering of your selection in photoshop when compositing so the line isn't quite so harsh. All in all a great first attempt at 3d, though!
