Description

This redtail hawk (Buteo Jamaicensis) has recently decided to perch on my next-door neighbor's roof to scan the field next to our houses for lunch. I've gotten a few decent shots of him, this probably the best so far. My goal is to catch him as he takes off; I almost got him today, but the pic was out of focus. He doesn't give me much warning, but I'll get him if he keeps giving me chances. Thanks for stopping by and any comments you choose to leave. They are always appreciated and often helpful.

Oh, my! Isn't he the majestic one, though? Wonderful shot. It appears a little grainy, but it is not distracting.

First step is to be in time with your equipment, next step is capturing it and at least you achieve d the first step! Thrilling to see this impressive bird here! Terrific work, Dennis!

You are almost there with the capturing this guy taking off. The secrect is a long focal length lens so you will not disturb him before you get a chance to set up and focus. Jim knows this much better than I do ofcourse. This is really good though. Keep us updated please.
