Description

So I see not too many ppl like B&W photography, of flowers that is - only 30 views to a 60 for the colour shots. Interesting Dynamics. So this is the same opening bud from yesterday's shot at relatively the say Composition and DOF, better POF and sharpness. I think I took it 4 or 5 days after. I really like the sparkles that the water droplets are producing in the background, to me those sparkles really work in B&W much better than colour. Shot in B&W with standard contrast and sharpness. Edit - levels and brightness. Tx to all for yesterday's comments and views! REALLY REALLY APPRECIATED. For those of you who didn't get a chance to look at the blooming bud CLICK HERE

I don't know about the rest, but I enjoy the simplicity and clarity of b/w photos. Some pictures actually need the colour loss to show the quality! Hugs!

like this one better than the previous one, although the water drops could be clearer (instead of shooting in b/w I'd prefer finely tuned postwork of a coloured shot, f.i. to play with possible effectes of the classical b/w filters (like green, yellow or red etc...))

Ha ha, see it like this, color is in RGB, 3 composite colors, and this is only one color, so posting this is R, then G and eventually B would give you more viewings LOL! Original work, love to see it!

Love this Vera! The contrasts are superb! My idea on your B&W vs. color experiment is that maybe it is a simple answer. It JUST turned Spring, and I think our eyes are all STARVED for color! I mean, I can really appreciate the subtleties of B&W's but I just got done with 6 months of winter and traveled south into lands filled with blossoms and that was exactly what I needed... All of that aside, I think most good photographers have a huge appreciation for B&W. This is excellent though +++
