Description

Here lies Mattie, daughter of W.C. and H.A Divine. She lived in this plane of existence for 14 years, 13 days. The circumstances behind her transcendence into the next realm is unknown to me! This memorial is located at Pineview Cemetery, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Thanks for looking, God bless you!

Wonderful capture Troy! This really brings up a lot of feeling... hard to imagine that 'too soon' part. Love the strong shadow/light play, and the tones really resonate with the image - excellent work +++

Powerful capture, a palapable feeling of deep grief is conveyed in this memorial stone. Excellent work my friend, it stopped me in my tracks, so very sad to be "taken too soon". Hugs.

A lot of children died here too in that period... Old people kept telling that it was the bad water, and talked about 'the blue disease'... something about bad nitrates in the water. Of course it could have been anything (even appendicitis). Beautiful, moving capture of this wonderful memorial!
