Description

This is the reworked 3D render of my former picture "HMS Victory - sailing to Trafalgar", after reading the helpful comments, make me notice some errors (mainly concerning the wrong sail settings with the displayed stormy conditions ... helpful hint from kenwas). Using the tipp from FitArtistSF, i've analysed the paintings of "Geoff Hunt" and tried to use a similar sail set in the above render. Anyway, the displayed sail set wasn't possible to set up just by turning on/off or erasing certain single sails, since in this model by "the hankster" there are surely 3 sets of sails (high wind, low wind and no wind), but the difference between high and low was only visible mainly in the weeker/stronger bending of the sails, simulating more/less wind pushing. Which means, the missing sails where mainly done by hand, postwork in PSPro, using two render versions of this ship (full sails, no sails).

Yes, this is certainly more realistic than the first version. Well done on all of the post processing work to remove the sails, you've done a good job!

Ahhh, Much, much, much better! Keep that site bookmarked! (It really does help when doing 3D maritime renders, especially since the artists on the site pride themselves in trying to accurately portray their subjects...) Also, the 3D site: www.age-of-sail.com (the artist at that site has done a superb job copying 2D maritime art in 3D). Keep up the good work! I saw your second (third?) posting, too. Very nice.
