Description

To a very special mother, Who deserves much love and praise. Whose gentle smile and tender heart, Uplift me from the haze. An endless source of nurturing, And firm encouragement, To urge my curiosities, In hope of development. A slave to her demanding job, Be it morning, noon or night, Yet with total and utter devotion, And not a wavering of might. With power of will and focus of mind, Determined to the end, To complete her cryptic crosswords, Puzzles and Sudoku trend. A kind and caring loving nanny, With laughter and joy to share. Juggling nappies, tantrums and teary eyes, Without hesitation or despair. Who irons crisp my uniform, Upon whispering in her ear, And darns my socks and pocket holes, Innumerable times each year. A mother whom I deeply love, A love that shines so true, And am sure by now she realises, That this wonderful person is you. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! __________________________________________________ Repelled by the artificial sentiments found gracing the inside of commercial greeting cards, I felt compelled to put pen to paper and express in my own heartfelt words what my mother truly means to me. This is also my first proper attempt at poetry. I hope you enjoy it.

What a wonderful way to start a Sunday. I hope you showed this to your mum, she will be very moved, and needless to say proud.
