Description

I got Carrara the other day. I've used the demo, but that was a while ago, so I'm just feeling my way through again. So, here's my first posting of a picture using Carrara 5 Pro. (I did have a Sphere Over Water, but won't subject you to that :-) The tile texture came with C5 as did the mats, which are default. The HDRI was from the net. The chess set is mine, created in Wings3D and based on my own real life chess set. Loving Carrara!! The caustics are just amazing. Especially on the white queen and bishop. Just astounds me and it was about a 2 minute render. I can only imagine the amount of crap I can create from now on. Baby steps, so go easy. Thanks for looking.

Very nice render. I encourage you to experiment with the shaders though. The defaults are only intended as a starting point and only cover a small amount of the full potential.

Outstanding! The textures and light are amazing. I've been working on a chess set in Bryce - hmmm...maybe I should be looking at Carrara...

Not to nitpick or anything, but that's actually the four-move "scholar's mate". True "Fools mate" is only two moves, and doesn't involve a bishop :)
