Description

As the sun rises over the rugged lowlands of Mars,fog forms in the vallys and craters, as Phobos and Deimos hurtle through the dawn sky, accompanyed this day by a manned craft, slowing like a meteor in the high, thin Martian air. Thanks to http://planetpixelemporium.com for the Phobos and Deimos models, and NASA for the MOLA terrain data I used to model the Mars surface. Modeled and rendered in Lightwave8.5, texturing and post work in PhotoshopCS. Thanks for taking a look.

Love it! You can feel that heat. The pallette is really great - the blacks punctuated by the bright oranges and the bright blue highlight of the sun flare. The RCS thusters are a great touch, as well, adding even more of an implied dynamic element. Sweet piece, Tom.
