Description

This image could have been shot any where but it was shot in the UK. Yes these places do exist - you just have to find them. I had already walked some distance along this beach and was on the return journey when I saw these prints in the sand. A wind was beginning to blow and had started to cover over the prints in sand. This is one of those shots that if it was planned it just wouldn't happen but it was just one of those days when it did. Eddie

We need more of those rain clouds here in the UK, we have a hose-pipe ban down here in Kent :( An excellent shot - congratulations - Bravo!

Wow this is great. Looks like two sets of footprints far away so this made me think of this. Footprints in the Sand One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints. This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord, You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me? The Lord replied, The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you. By Mary Stevenson

Hi All, Firstly thanks for the comments - they are really appreciated. I hadn't noticed the second set of prints when I took the shot. The tide was coming in and if you see how flat the beach is you will realise it comes in pretty fast.Plus the fact that a breeze was moving the sand and as you know sand and cameras don't make good bedmates. I did think of the Mary Stevenson story when I first looked at the image. I had heard it during my days as a wedding photographer as it was one of the readings during a service. When I first saw the two sets of foot prints I couldn't understand it and pondered on cloning one set out but decided to leave it.One of life's little mysteries but probably a simple explanation some where. Once again thanks for the comments - not sure how I top this - better get the Nikon out :-) Eddie
