Description

Weir at Skipton. Whilst walking around Skipton castle I looked thru one of the windows and saw this weir. It quite fascinates me because although this is as it was it looks rather surreal. Eddie

Stunning! Weir - A dam placed across a river or canal to raise or divert the water, as for a millrace, or to regulate or measure the flow. I had to look it up! ;)

Educational as well as interesting - thanks Dennis. Another explanation of "weir" is "a wall built under the water across a river, over which the water flows from one level to another in a controlled way" Eddie
