Description

This little moth has a 15mm extended wingspan, tiny, yet so beautiful, hence I am posting a here. It is Pyrausta aurata for those who would like an ID. Quite common in the UK often found on garden herbs like: Mint, Marjoram or Thyme. I disturbed it from my Thyme pathway and it has flown up onto a much larger leaf for the photograph. Many thanks for viewing and any comments you leave. Richard. For the technical: Canon 30D, Sigma 150mm F2.8, F11, 1/250th, ISO 400, no flash, hand held. size>

Incredible! That's one great lens you've got there! Superb colour & detail. Just one question - how does it know you aren't a predator & fly off?

Fifteen mm?Wow that's a tiny thing, indeed.Excellent work,my friend!I love the beautiful detail and the quality is out-standing.Love the furry red of her...coat(?),lol...I'm wondering what herb that is.It's certainly not thyme...And it's too veiny and light to be any mint I've seen...Looks luscious, whatever it is...Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing this mini-wonder with us.-M :^)
