Description

Photography has not always been the same. Before I obtained an SLR-camera I used the Agfa Optima camera belonging to the inheritance of my father. This slide is about 20 years old and shot before I even had my driver's license (so it was pretty safe to capture this). You can see here the Belgian freeway in the neighborhood of Tongeren. Agfa Optima 1a (Agfachrome 100 S, 35 mm)

"Het Vlakke land" should be renamed to "Het Diepe land" (girsempa) because of the great depth achieved with this beautiful road & cloud scene. Excellent!

So you were born with the gift, then, Jan-Carel. Very impressive. Thirty-odd years ago, I used a clunky old Russian built 35mm camera, no frills and weighing about 1kg!! Films took a week to develop and were costly too. Mind you I did not have 'camera shake' in those days. Looking back over the years, at my life and health, I note that I tend to make the same type of mistakes, and have the same bad habits. 'Must improve' as it said on my school report cards.
