Description

This was a poem I wrote on Saturday for the Writer's Block Insomniac challenge. Have a happy day all! ******************************* Cold winter Iced floors that drive you insane Make you hop when you have no energy Minimise the contact of foot on floor Slippers! Where are those fluffy pink pieces of warmth That snuggle your foot and toes Heaven. Now for the caffiene Where did that mug go The big one That can fit one litre I need Want Must have to survive To exist. The withdrawl of not having coffee for 8 hours is intense Bursting headache Throbbing Oozing through my system. I need Want Must have to survive. The kettle clicks off A promising sound midst the pain The mug is ready, brown bottomed liberally sprinkled with white as snow sugar Direct glucose injection. Lethal dose of morning life To get me living. I stir it reverently Slowly, Begging it to cool enough. I gently ease my lips to the edge Breathe deeply Inhale the delicious aroma Mmmmm I taste it. Ambrosia Pure nectar of the gods. I sip again. And live.

What a tribute to the caffeinites! I like your very descriptive one word phrases - now who said a good word is worth a thousand pictures!

I like the use of two or three words per line and then the coffee sets in and re-establishes structure, and then later you get lost again in calmness ... Look at me going all english teacher on you...
