Description

This statue resides at Animal Kingdom in the Africa section. I ran across it rather by accident... I caught it out of the corner of my eye while I was over at a shopping kiosk. This was a definite case of patience paying off, as I waited for about 10 minutes before the crowds thinned down enough to grab a couple of shots (ah the joys of theme parks...). While not a traditional piece of artwork, I really liked the pseudo-tribal look, but then again, I always have loved shooting status (at least they don't every complain about being in a silly pose while you make sure you have the shot you want). Shot with my Olympus E-300, using the 18-180mm lens (actual focal length 135mm), shot at f5.9, ISO 400 with 1/800 for the shutter speed. Photoshop used to resize the image and add my signature. Thanks to all for all of the great comments and thoughts on my recent images. I do apologize if I haven't had a chance to comment much lately... I just got thrown to the wolves... erm promoted at work and as you might guess, time has not been my friend lately. Thanks for stopping by and having a look.

Superb. I'd never have guessed you were in a crowded place unless you mentioned it. It looks ancient and wise, like a temple guard.
