Description

In 2001 I handled the monochrome graphic design for The Auricle Archive, a series of 12 CDR issues on my friends' Auricle label. For the two albums of material by ZBB, Cold Smoke and Embers, I made the above montage from photos of the band circa 1984 and other odds and ends, including one of my old computer cassettes from the same year. I was really going for the aesthetic of this dynamic textural music. Three non-musicians dabbling with mostly non-instruments, with often fascinating results! Thanks for taking a look and your feedback is always appreciated :-)

Never heard of 'em! The design does suit the underground industrial music scene that was flourishing at the time, although it's a bit clean for early 80's DIY aesthetic. Ideal re-presentation for today though :-)

Winks at your anonymity ;-) You're right, it is a bit clean and if I was to redo it I'd probably make it grimier! I still think you should post those contact strips you emailed me :-)
