Description

My chess set again. This time I've played with the DOF settings. DOF in carrara DOES kinda make sense to me, but the preview is kinda small, so I wasn't sure what I'd get until I rendered. I also turned on quite a few of the settings. SO this took 1 1/2 hours to render. The DOF is worked out afterwards, which is kinda weird, but I guess it knows what it's doing. No lights in this. Just the HDRI which is also the backdrop. Chess set made in Wings. Render in Carrara using default textures and a tiny bit of post in Photoshop (sharpen and resize). One of the English computer art mags has a picture of a chess set by a guy at a similar angle and POV, so I nod to him (sorry, not sure who it was)for the inspiration. Thanks for looking.

The light seems a bit dark, i.e. some parts arent lit as strongly as Id expect. Maybe a little lamp would make it better... But the glass material is great and makes the whole image excellent, anyway. Love such stuff.
