Description

Here's a render in Carrara of my quite infamous watch (long story). Little postwork to reduce the saturation slightly, otherwise, pretty much carrara. Very subtle DOF and I had caustics on. Not too sure about the softness of the shadows. Probably could be a little softer. Anyway, thanks for viewing. Wings3d, Carrara 5 Pro, Photoshop CS

Compared to this, http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=854575 I like the Bryce one better although I'd be hard pressed to explain why. Man, That watch brings back some memories...

This does look very good (although I agree with you that the shadows should be softer). The caustics in the watch face are dazzling. Did you perhaps use fresnel effect as well?

Excellent!!! I have not seen the one in Bryce though. I think this is done very well. But, yeah, soften the shadows just a touch. I wanna see more from you!! ;) ps-I still need some help with a "perfect" glass shader..lmao!
