Description

I haven't posted anything in a while so here is the start of something. Let me know what you think. I have this idea for a sci fi story with a diverse crew this guy is of course the starship captain named Martin Russell. The robot is a crew mate called Chit. Although he doesn't have any official rank or postion in the crew he is always seen with the captain whenever he leaves the ship. The captain says he likes to have someone watching his back. Since the captain has alot on mind the robot is usually giving him the occasional reminder of his appointments. The crew makes credits through both legal and illegal means. Bonus if you know what movie I got name of ship from. Credits: The Robot is of course the Eye Robot by Ant Farm found at Daz The Urban Future is done by Stonemason found at Daz Russell's outfit is the M3 Scout shirt by Lourdes Mercado and the Daedalus Sky Mercenary by Luthbel

Yarrr Matey!! any captain that resembles a pirate in appearance or deeds gets bonus points in my book! This is a great render, and it could be a great series, you just need more characters. As for the robot though, to be a protagonist, robots usually need to have some human characteristics, like at least a lovable face. This one here would be better suited as an 'enemy robot' given that it's lack of facial features makes it harder for an audience to identify with it. Then again R2D2 had no face, so I could be wrong on that one...

Thanks chimera46, believe I have quite a few ideas on what characters to use with this one. As for the robot I'm gonna stick with this one he's got a great texture that shows he been around for a while, makes him seem like he belongs with the captain. But I have to say I love to get feedback.

Well I have to admit Adam I wouldn't have turn out so well without your kit. I'm still glad you're pleased with the result.

So this is the captain then, I can see some epic meetings in the future. He looks great, once again the clever combination of ruff hewn textures for the grizzled looking Russell and the tech style backround of cold steel with glowing lights and so on along with Russell's robot companion makes for a nice effect. Well done. ^^

Another interesting Sci-Fi image, MajinBoo. The character & the robot seem to fit well into the sci-fi setting. Good job on their designs & that of the background. Color & lighting work well together in this pic, too.
