Description

LOL...I'm sorry about the title! It's just the first thing that came to my frazzled brain. Hope you are all having a great summer so far. It's a very hectic time of year but a wonderful time for photographers! :-) This is a picture from a golf course in Lake George, NY ..called appropriately "The Top of the World." It was an overcast day and the picture didn't come out as well as I hoped but I took it in my search for signs of Spring a few weeks back. I was taking a picture of the lake you see... when all of a sudden, this ...this creature!...popped up into my lense and click! EEEKSSS!!! Thank you so much to those of you who have viewed my images and commented on them. I appreciate it so very much, especially since I've had little time lately to do any commenting myself. I do promise to catch up soon. (((Hugs))) ~ maggie

Have you spotted any UFO's in the area lately????..that is one crazy looking plant or alien. I hope you were careful not to get too close to that thing..It's even too creepy to put in my Rayburgimal collection. My dearest and only daughter, I hope you have a terrific week...maybe take a few more pics of this alien thing...big hugs.

LOLOL, don't apologize about the title! It fits perfectly!! It seems as if the little guy on the left is cowering before the ominous looking figure in the center. Great capture!! I really like the sense of depth and the mountains in the background. Do you know what kind of plant this is? I've never seen anything like it!

he he he -- it does look like a tentacled alien! It's still a cool shot even if the weather didn't cooperate with you.

Definitely appears to be a botanical structure from another planet, or at least another time on this one. Very alien-looking species of whatever-it-is indeed! I think the title you've chosen works perfectly for this image! Nice work Maggie! Have a beautiful day my friend! [Hugs]

V. nice capture, I think your alien is a sumac tree(as in poison sumac). By the end of the day the little fronds would be 9 inch long leave clusters. You definitely caught a fleeting moment of spring!

Thank you rufous! I think you are probably right about it being poison sumac. They do pop up quickly in Spring. :-) I might try to get back up there and take a picture of the "adult" alien version soon...hehehe You are so welcome Kort, Thank you so much everyone and awww miss you too Marlene!
