Description
So I see that y'll are getting tired of the death and sorrow things, I think it's a case of wrong place wrong timing :]
So y'll are lucky I've pulled out the animals! And everyones favourite is a pride of lions. So here is a lioness. She was roaring. The male was locked up while the females got fead, and boy were they enjoying themselves.
I took this shot at the National Zooalogical Gardens of South Africa in Pretoria - were Zeldie lives. There is a cable car that one can take up to the hills with Tigers, Mountian Goats, Lions and the Ground Horn something or other (of which there are only 1500 in SA and are on the seriously endangered list).
The zoo has been opperating since 1898 and recently had many new animals donated from many zoos around the world including Russia, USA, Chile, Australia ...
The zoo has a small aquarium (mostly small fish but very educational - better than uShaka I might even say as far as education) and a lovely reptile park with Komodo Dragons, a Aligator, baby crocodiles and lots of snakes from all over.
They are busy building a Lemur park and upgrading the penguin and seal areas. Plus there are the OLD cages from the 30's that are no longer in use. And they look just like the old cages that you see in movies, very Gotham City.
All my mom wanted to do was go on the cable car as when they came with my brother 11 years ago they didn't go. So we went and it was lovely, we saw the seals, bears, wildbeest, buffalo and the whole petting farm. And all for a tiny R7 - US$0.90.
The park is extremely well priced compared to many other tourist attractions in SA - I would recommend it to anyone!
So hope you like the pic of the lioness, there are stacks more to come!
Tx to all who did support me on yesterday's image:

This is a brilliant shot Vera! You timed it perfectly... Hugs!

You have me green with envy, plus your DOF and compo is very good! Seldom that they'd roar during daytime as they "normally" indulge in that behaviour at sunset when lighting conditions are bad. Praiseworthy to see you promote our local facilities.
