So I know there isn't really any comparision between a HECC and a DSLR...
But I thought you guys might like to see, I original file size apon creation was 2MB but that was obviously too big...
I shot the last two sections with the Sigma 70 - 300 lens in Macro mode (it's more of a close up than true macro). And all shots were done on Macro Mode with both cameras, which sets all of the features for you including shutter, AP, flash, WB, ISO and file quality (which was fine/excellent).
Hope to here some WOW - "now I want a DSLR" s.
I mainly whated to show what I got for the upgrade...
The only thing the Pana was better for was weight, less colour vigging/noise and a truer sense of white. The Canon gives off more of a warmer tone... But with the digital barkroom anything can be fixed. Well almost anything.
Tx to all for the click on the lioness yesterday and the wonderful comments!

Thanks for a most valuable info. Thinking of buying a camer instead of my dead Nikon Coolpix 5700. Canon sounds a good alternative.

http://www.dpreview.com/ also has very comprehensive reviews on both these, which influenced my decision to get the Canon.

Cool idea! Nice that you can see that you have most definitely made a good buying decision. I did my research on 'Stevesdigicams' (something like that) and he has a great list of the five or six cams that are best in each class from consumer point and click to super pro... it helped me alot - especially since I knew I could not afford the best but knew that I was getting the best for the class I could afford... Nice work +++

I am also thinking of buying a new camera, but what an emotional subject! I wish I could afford the Hasselblad H2D-39. Interesting comparisons Vera.

I had a Kodak 3.2 pixel camera before and I thought it had half decent pics. then I bought the Fuji 12million pixel and I gave the Kodak away. the Fuji has a fixed lenses also but the quality is leaps and bounds over the kodak. my canon rebel xt only produces 8 million pixels but has a larger sensor than the fuji. in regular shooting the Canon beats the Fuji but for macros of stuff that is moving the fuji is superior. excellent collage and congrats on the new camera
